Dr. D. Clay Perkins, executive pastor and university president,
assumed new role as of July 1
Irvine, CA – Financial Planning Ministry (FPM), the nation’s leading nonprofit planned giving partnership, is pleased to announce that D. Clay Perkins, PhD has accepted the position of executive vice president.
Perkins joined FPM July 1, after more than a decade as president of Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU). An ordained minister with more than four decades of Christian service, Perkins comes to FPM with a depth of experience in non-profit, church, and university organizations. He succeeds Dick Hess, who served as FPM’s vice president since 2004. Mr. Hess will continue on special projects for FPM.
While serving as president at MACU, Perkins was actively involved with FPM, serving on its board of directors for eight years. During his 12-year tenure as president at MACU, more than 250 donor bequests totalling $8.5 million were developed for the university through the FPM legacy planning program.
Perkins said, “I’ve been a supporter and passionate advocate of FPM for many years, having seen first-hand how FPM’s approach to stewardship and estate planning blesses families and ministry organizations. I’m thrilled to join their mission full-time.”
Mike Prior, president of FPM, said, “Clay’s vision and depth of understanding in organizational development – both in churches and higher Christian education – will serve our partner organizations in gift support for decades to come.”
Perkins joins a national team of 35 at FPM, serving 85 ministry partners and 23,000 estate planning members. He serves nationally from his office in the southeastern US.
