Financial Planning Ministry Launches Dedicated LEGACY SERVICES Department to Assist Families During Estate Administration Phase
D. Clay Perkins Named Executive Director of New Initiative

Irvine, CA — May 18, 2025 — Financial Planning Ministry (FPM), a national leader in nonprofit planned giving, proudly announces the launch of Legacy Services, a new department devoted to assisting families through the estate administration process. The ministry also celebrates the appointment of longtime FPM leader D. Clay Perkins, Ph.D. as the department’s inaugural Executive Director.
Legacy Services represents a significant expansion of FPM’s commitment to biblical stewardship and its mission to shepherd the largest transfer of wealth in Christian history. With over 53,000 families served and more than $3 billion in verified designated Kingdom funding, FPM’s work now enters a new chapter—providing families with support when it matters most: after the loss of a loved one.
This newly established department will walk alongside Successor Trustees, Executors, and heirs, offering personal guidance, resources, and encouragement throughout the estate settlement process. Legacy Services also seeks to empower Stewardship Pastors, Advancement Officers, and ministry leaders across FPM’s network of 150+ Partner organizations, strengthening their ability to support families during this sacred phase of stewardship.
“Legacy Services will meet a growing and urgent need by standing with families at the moment they begin to carry out the final wishes of their loved ones,” said Michael Prior, J.D., President, and Grace Grubert, CFO/COO. “And we are thrilled that Clay Perkins will lead this vital effort with both vision and compassion.”
With this appointment, Clay steps down from his current role as Executive Vice President, culminating eight impactful years on FPM’s Executive Team, following another eight years of faithful service on the Board. A seasoned minister, nonprofit executive, and passionate advocate for stewardship, Clay brings decades of experience and a deeply pastoral heart to his new position.
“This new calling is a true privilege,” shared Dr. Perkins. “I am excited to help families honor their loved ones’ legacies and support ministries in advancing the Gospel. I look forward to this new season and humbly ask for your prayers for wisdom.”
President Michel Prior added, “Clay gets things done with excellence and humility. We are confident that under his leadership Legacy Services will become a trusted and compassionate guide for families and ministries alike, ensuring that every legacy gift fulfills its intended purpose for God’s glory.”
The FPM team is confident that under Clay’s leadership, Legacy Services will strengthen FPM’s ability to serve ministry partners and their families, magnifying Kingdom impact for generations to come.
